Almost nobody builds a large rear-drive saloon with an optional V8 any more. The Chrysler 300 does, at a price where the German alternatives are still selling four-cylinder engines and a badge. It has been on sale in this form since 2011, and Chrysler stopped building it in 2023, so the supply is finite.
How much does the Chrysler 300 cost in the UAE?
Four trims and two engines. AED 145,500 starts the range with the Touring 3.6L, running the 3.6 L V6 and 300 BHP to the rear wheels; AED 205,500 tops it with the Platinum 5.7L, which brings the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 and the full luxury specification. The V6 and V8 cars each have a sporting grade between them.
Which Chrysler 300 trim is the one to buy?
Choose the engine first and the trim afterwards. The 3.6 L V6 is smooth, strong enough to reach 100 km/h in around six seconds and much cheaper to fuel and insure. The 5.7-litre cars are bought for the noise and the effortless overtaking — a real difference in character, and a real difference at every fuel stop.
Chrysler 300 or Dodge Charger?
The 300 is the mature one. It shares its platform and engines with its stablemate but trades the aggression for a quieter cabin, a softer ride and a more restrained shape, which is what most buyers of a big saloon actually want. The Dodge Charger is the choice if you want to be noticed. The Chevrolet Impala is the front-drive, economy-first alternative.
What does a Chrysler 300 cost to run in the UAE?
Fuel is the headline at around 8 Km/L from the V6, and materially worse from the V8 — this is a 5,044 mm, rear-drive car and it does not pretend otherwise. Servicing is straightforward and parts for these engines are widely understood by independent workshops, which keeps out-of-warranty costs far more reasonable than a European equivalent.
Does the Chrysler 300 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
Median mileage at inspection is about 125,000 km, which says most of these cars have worked rather than sat. Distance of that order puts bushes, dampers, the driveline and the air-conditioning compressor into replacement territory, and interior wear usually runs ahead of the paint. Parts and labour for these engines are inexpensive here, so the report on the specific car tells you which bill you are buying.
Drive the V6 before you assume you need the V8 — most buyers do not. The used Chrysler listings are worth the same drive.
