Few cars this cheap are bought for how they look, but the 500 is. Fiat's city car is 3,546 mm long, seats 4 at a push and exists because people want it in their parking space rather than because they need it. It has been built in recognisably this form since 2007, and the styling is the reason it has survived that long unchanged.
How much does the Fiat 500 cost in the UAE?
The range is really three different cars wearing one badge. AED 73,500 buys the 1.4L Dolcevita, the standard hatchback; a folding fabric roof sits above it; and AED 107,000 buys the 1.4T Cross, which adds a turbocharged engine and a raised, rugged-look body. The step between the two ends is a change of character, not a longer equipment list.
Which Fiat 500 trim is the one to buy?
The 1.4L Dolcevita is the purest version of the idea and the cheapest way to own one, with the 1.4 L engine, 105 BHP and an automatic gearbox. The convertible is worth its premium if you will genuinely use the roof between November and March. The 1.4T Cross is a different proposition — quicker, taller and priced against real crossovers.
Fiat 500 or Mini Cooper?
The 500 is the more charming of the two and costs substantially less to buy, which is the honest reason most people choose it. The Mini Cooper is the better-built and better-driving car, and holds its value noticeably better — if you plan to keep it three years and sell, that gap closes most of the price difference.
What does a Fiat 500 cost to run in the UAE?
Around 15 Km/L, and a car this small is cheap on tyres, brakes and parking as well as petrol. What to check is service access — the network is compact, so find your nearest authorised workshop before you buy. Boot space is 185 litres, which is a weekly shop rather than a family holiday.
Does the Fiat 500 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
The 500s coming through inspection here run a median of about 40,000 km, low enough that most are still genuine city cars rather than high-mileage workhorses. That keeps the mechanical risk small and moves it elsewhere — kerbed alloys, sun-tired trim and, on a cabriolet, the roof seals are what actually cost money at this age. Check those, then read the inspection report on the individual car.
Look at what your money buys second-hand before you order new — the used 500s listed now are the real comparison.
