About Honda City

The City is the cheapest new Honda in the UAE and the least complicated: one trim, one 1.5 L engine, five seats and a 506-litre boot that embarrasses cars a class above. It is a sensible small sedan sold without options to agonise over.

How much does the Honda City cost in the UAE?

There is a single answer, because there is a single trim: AED 72,900 for the LX Sport 1.5L. No option packs, no engine choice, no upsell path — what you see on the spec sheet is what every City on the road has. That makes the buying decision quick, and it makes comparing prices between dealers genuinely meaningful.

Honda City or Toyota Yaris?

The City is the bigger car in every dimension that matters day to day: more rear legroom, a far larger boot, and a longer, calmer ride on the highway. It is the better choice for a family that keeps one car. The Toyota Yaris is cheaper to insure and easier to park; the Nissan Sunny is the cheapest to buy and the plainest to own.

What does a Honda City cost to run in the UAE?

Very little indeed — about 16 Km/L from the naturally aspirated four-cylinder, and no turbo or hybrid hardware to fail later. Trading Enterprises supports it from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, but the practical point is that this engine is common enough that independent workshops quote it from memory and stock the filters.

Does the Honda City hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?

Better than its class, at about 58% of its value after five years against roughly 55% for the average small sedan here. The Citys reaching CarSwitch for inspection come in at a median of around 70,000 km, low for a car of this age, which points to short urban lives — so the things to check are cosmetic and suspension wear from speed bumps and kerbs, not high-mileage mechanical fatigue. The individual car's report is where that shows up.

Is a used City the better buy?

Marginally, and only if the mileage is right. A nearly new example generally runs around AED 50,000 to AED 60,000, roughly 33% under the new price — about AED 25,000 saved. Strong retention keeps used ones firm, so a tidy low-mileage car costs close to the new one.

One trim makes the new price easy to check. The harder question is what the used Citys listed now are asking for a low-mileage example.
