The RF8 is the largest and most expensive vehicle JAC sells in the UAE, a seven-seat SUV offered with a turbocharged petrol engine or as a plug-in hybrid. It is the model where the brand stops competing purely on price and asks to be judged on the car itself.
How much does the JAC RF8 cost in the UAE?
The two 2026 versions are different powertrains rather than trim grades, and the gap between them reflects that: AED 120,000 for the Flagship and AED 150,000 for the PHEV. You are choosing an engine, not an equipment level, so decide how you will actually use the car before you compare the two numbers.
Petrol or plug-in hybrid?
Take the petrol unless you can charge where you park. The plug-in only repays its premium if most of your journeys are short enough to run on battery and you plug in regularly — the electric range is the saving, and unused it becomes weight you carry around. Either way the car drives on petrol, so a plug-in owner who never charges is inconvenienced rather than stranded.
JAC RF8 or Geely Monjaro?
The RF8 gives you seven seats and 250 hp for money that buys a five-seater elsewhere, and if your family needs a third row now, that is a good reason to buy it. The Geely Monjaro is better established here, with a wider service footprint and stronger second-hand demand, and it will cost you less to sell. Within JAC's own range the JS6 covers the same duty for far less if five seats are enough.
What does a JAC RF8 cost to run in the UAE?
A large seven-seat SUV is never cheap to feed, and the plug-in adds a high-voltage system that only a certified workshop should touch. Get the warranty terms for the battery and the drive components separately and in writing, price the first three services, and confirm how many approved workshops can actually service a plug-in rather than just the petrol car.
Does the RF8 keep its value?
About as well as its peers, no better: roughly 50% after five years against 52% for the Chinese brands sold here, and 66% at three. Large SUVs with plug-in hybrid systems are still an unknown quantity second-hand, which caps the figure. If the car is a keeper that is irrelevant. If it is not, the battery report, the service history and the tyres are the three things that will decide what a buyer offers.
Decide the powertrain around where you park, and get both warranty documents before you compare prices. A look through the used JACs listed now will show you what the brand's earlier models are doing second-hand.
