The GranTurismo is Maserati's 2+2 coupé, and it is now sold in two entirely different forms: two petrol V6 models and a fully electric one. They share a body and almost nothing else.
How much does the Maserati GranTurismo cost in the UAE?
A very wide spread for one model, because the top of it is a different powertrain rather than a higher trim level. The V6 Modena starts at AED 689,000, the Trofeo sits above it, and the fully electric Folgore reaches AED 1,100,000. Two of the three are petrol cars and one is not.
Which GranTurismo should you buy?
The Modena, for most people. It uses the 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 quoted at 542 BHP and 650 Nm, drives all four wheels and reaches 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds — enough for any road. The Trofeo adds power for a modest premium. Folgore is worth the jump only if you want an electric coupé specifically.
Maserati GranTurismo or Maserati Grecale?
The coupé is the reason the badge exists: a lower, better-looking car with the V6 in the nose and a genuine grand-touring gait. The Grecale costs far less and does everything a family needs, and the Ghibli offers the same V6 in a four-door body. The GranTurismo is the indulgence of the three, deliberately.
What is one like to own here?
Around 7 Km/L from the V6, with tyres, brakes and the scheduled service as the costs that recur. Work goes through the authorised network in practice, and Maserati resale is softer than the German alternatives — so specify the car for yourself rather than for a future buyer, and keep every service documented.
How does a Maserati GranTurismo age?
Better on the mechanicals than on the trim. Cars reaching inspection show a median of about 85,000 km, ordinary for a car designed to cover ground, so the useful checks are elsewhere: leather and veneer after several summers here, the electronics, and a service file with no unexplained gaps. Ask for each of those to be covered in an inspection on the individual car before you agree a price.
Sit in the rear seats before you commit; on a 2+2 that is the decision most owners get wrong. Do that in one of the used Maseratis listed now as well, where the earlier coupés are easy to find.
