About Mazda CX-30

Sitting between the CX-3 and CX-5, the CX-30 is the small SUV Mazda designed once the brand decided it wanted to be judged on interior quality. It is the strongest value-holding car in the range, and the reason is that buyers who drive one tend to want one.

How much does the Mazda CX-30 cost in the UAE?

The range is tight — AED 95,000 to AED 105,000 covers all three 2026 trims, which is a narrow spread for a small SUV. The 2.0L Elite 2WD is front-wheel drive; the Urban and 2.0L Trend AWD above it add all-wheel drive along with the equipment. The step to all-wheel drive is unusually cheap here.

Which CX-30 trim is the one to buy?

The Urban, because it is where all-wheel drive first appears and the price gap to the entry car is small. Every trim uses the same 2 L engine and 155 BHP, so this ladder is about traction and comfort rather than speed. Buyers who never leave paved roads lose nothing meaningful by taking the 2.0L Elite 2WD.

Mazda CX-30 or Toyota C-HR?

The CX-30 is the more practical and better-finished car: a bigger boot at 430 litres, a far more usable back seat, and a cabin that feels a segment above. The Toyota C-HR is the more distinctive-looking option and the stronger resale bet. The Hyundai Kona undercuts both on price and matches neither on cabin quality.

What does a CX-30 cost to run in the UAE?

Modest: around 13 Km/L, ordinary insurance and a naturally aspirated engine that asks for nothing unusual. Galadari Automobiles handles sales and service in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Sharjah — broad enough coverage that servicing should never require planning a journey around it, which is not true of every brand at this price.

Does the CX-30 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?

Above average for the class — about 60% of its value after five years, against roughly 55% for small SUVs in the UAE and 53% across used Mazdas. Condition backs that up: only 12% of the CX-30s CarSwitch inspects show evidence of prior body or panel repair, against the 35% we would expect for small SUVs of the same age and mileage here. That is a low figure for a car used in city traffic, and it makes reading the individual inspection report a quick job rather than a nervous one.

Strong retention cuts both ways, so price a new one against the used CX-30s listed now before assuming used is cheaper.
