The Corsa is a European supermini sold at Japanese supermini money — a small five-door hatchback with a turbocharged three-cylinder engine where most of its rivals still use a naturally aspirated four. This is the sixth-generation Corsa, on sale since 2019 and facelifted in 2023 with the brand's new grille treatment.
How much does the Opel Corsa cost in the UAE?
The whole range sits inside a narrow band, and both ends use the same engine. AED 74,900 buys the 1.2T Elegance (5-Door), AED 86,900 the 1.2T Elegance Plus (5-Door), and the money between them goes on equipment — larger wheels, more screen, more driver assistance — rather than performance. Either way you get the 1.2 L turbo and 130 BHP.
Which Corsa trim is the one to buy?
The 1.2T Elegance (5-Door) is enough car for most people. It has the turbo engine, the automatic gearbox and the safety kit, and it undercuts a mid-grade Japanese hatchback while driving considerably better than one. Step up only if the bigger wheels and the upgraded cabin genuinely matter to you — nothing about the way the car moves changes.
Opel Corsa or Toyota Yaris?
The Corsa is the better car on the road. It is quicker — 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds — it steers with more precision, and the interior feels a class above what the price suggests. The Toyota Yaris wins on the things that matter after purchase: service points everywhere, cheap parts, and a resale figure you can rely on.
What does an Opel Corsa cost to run in the UAE?
Very little to fuel — around 15 Km/L from a small turbo engine, helped by a kerb weight most SUVs would consider a rounding error. The catch is coverage: the brand's authorised workshops are far fewer than the Japanese and Korean equivalents, so check where your nearest one is before you buy, not when the first service is due.
Does the Opel Corsa hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
It gives up more than its class, at about 40% after five years where mainstream European cars here hold roughly 45%, because small hatchbacks compete against a deep supply of used Japanese and Korean rivals. The Corsas reaching inspection carry a median of around 95,000 km, so a complete service record and healthy air-conditioning matter far more than the model average when you are pricing one particular car.
If you want the same engineering in a taller body, the Mokka is the next step up the range.
