Seven seats, all-wheel drive and a 650-litre boot behind the middle row put the Kodiaq in the same conversation as SUVs costing appreciably more. It is the most complete car Skoda sells in the UAE and the one with the widest trim ladder. This is the second-generation Kodiaq, and the extra length over the first car is where the third row got its usability.
How much does the Skoda Kodiaq cost in the UAE?
Four 2026 grades that cluster into two pairs. The Essence at AED 125,500 and the grade above it are the sensible family cars; the sportier trim and the Selection Plus at AED 164,900 are about presentation and interior specification rather than capability. Seven seats and the 2.0 L turbo run through the whole range.
Which Kodiaq trim is the one to buy?
The Essence does everything a Kodiaq is bought for — three rows, the same engine, the same boot — and leaves the widest gap between what you paid and what the car is worth in three years. Move up only for a feature you can name; the upper grades add equipment, not ability.
Skoda Kodiaq or Volkswagen Teramont?
The Kodiaq is the easier seven-seater to live with here: shorter, lighter on fuel, simpler to park, and thousands cheaper while carrying the same number of people. The Volkswagen Teramont is the answer if adults ride in the third row regularly, because it is genuinely bigger back there. The Hyundai Santa Fe brings the deepest service network of the three.
What does a Kodiaq cost to run in the UAE?
Fuel is reasonable for a seven-seater, since a 2.0 L turbo four is doing the work rather than a big six, and the number to establish is servicing. Ask for the warranty term and its mileage cap in writing, get the first three services quoted, and check that an approved workshop is somewhere you would actually drive on a working day.
Does the Kodiaq hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
It retains about 54% of its value after five years, ahead of the 48% we would expect for seven-seat SUVs of the same age and mileage in the UAE — a genuine strength for a European seven-seater. Cars come to inspection at a median of around 30,000 km, so most are early in life. The items worth checking are the turbocharger's oil-service record and the gearbox; read the report on the individual car before you talk price.
