About Suzuki Jimny

The Jimny is a genuine ladder-frame, low-range four-wheel drive that happens to be the size of a supermini. Nothing else on sale here does what it does for the money, and the compromises — four seats, a 211-litre boot, modest pace — are the price of that. The current Jimny is the redesign that brought back the upright, squared-off shape, and a longer five-door version has since joined the original three-door.

How much does the Suzuki Jimny cost in the UAE?

Three 2026 cars within AED 1,000 of each other, which is unusual. The GLX 1 Tone 5-Door and the three-door share the opening price of AED 92,900, and the GLX 2 Tone 5-Door tops the range at AED 93,900. All are GLX with the 1.5 L engine and an automatic, so what you are choosing is body length and paint, not specification.

Which Jimny is the one to buy?

The five-door, for almost everyone. The longer body makes the rear seat usable and the boot less of a joke, and it costs virtually nothing extra here. Choose the three-door only if the shorter wheelbase matters to you off-road or if you simply prefer the way it looks — both are worth the money at these prices.

Suzuki Jimny or Jeep Wrangler?

The Jimny gets you serious off-road hardware for a fraction of the outlay and a fraction of the fuel, insurance and tyre spend, and it goes down tracks a full-size car has to reverse out of. The Jeep Wrangler is the better long-distance vehicle and far more comfortable with four aboard, at several times the price. The Ford Bronco sits between them.

What does a Jimny cost to run in the UAE?

About 13 Km/L, and not much else. The mechanical package is deliberately basic — solid axles, a transfer case, few electronics — so repairs stay cheap. Al Rostamani Trading Company covers sales and warranty from Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain, and independents handle these cars comfortably afterwards. Budget for proper tyres if you use it in sand.

Does the Jimny hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?

About 69% after three years and 54% after five, in line with roughly 70% and 55% for Japanese mainstream cars here. Jimnys come to inspection at a median of around 45,000 km. Because these get used as intended, the things to look at are underbody condition, evidence of sand or water intrusion, and whether differential and transfer-case oils were changed — read the inspection report on the individual car rather than trusting the odometer.

Is a used Jimny the better buy?

Often, yes. A nearly new example generally runs around AED 60,000 to AED 80,000, about 37% under the new entry price — roughly AED 35,000 saved, which is a large gap for a car this sought-after. Buy on underbody condition rather than mileage, and start from the used Jimnys listed now.
