About Volvo EX90

The EX90 is Volvo's electric seven-seater and the most technically ambitious car the company has built: 5,037 mm long, lidar mounted above the windscreen, and a 111 kWh battery under the floor. The EX90 joined the range in 2024 and sits beside the XC90 rather than taking over from it.

How much does the Volvo EX90 cost in the UAE?

There are two 2026 trims and barely anything between them — AED 286,000 for the Plus and AED 289,000 for the Ultra. That is unusual, and it means the decision here is a specification one rather than a budget one: you are not being asked to give anything up to save money.

Which EX90 trim is the one to buy?

The Ultra, given how small the gap is. When the step up costs less than a set of wheels, take the better-equipped car — the extra goes on interior materials and audio, and the two share the same 7 seats, the same battery and the same twin-motor drivetrain.

Volvo EX90 or Volvo XC90?

The EX90 is the quieter and more advanced car, and the one to buy if you can charge at home — smoother, far cheaper per kilometre, and with driver-assistance hardware a generation ahead. The XC90 is the safer purchase if your driving involves long unplanned trips or you have nowhere to plug in, and it costs less to buy. Both seat 7.

What does an EX90 cost to run in the UAE?

Very little per kilometre, once charging is sorted. A battery this size is designed to be filled slowly overnight where the car is parked, with public rapid charging kept for the occasional long run; there is no oil service, no gearbox and no exhaust. Software updates and high-voltage work stay with Trading Enterprises in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which is worth knowing on a car this new.

Does the EX90 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?

Slightly under its class — about 44% after five years, against roughly 48% for European premium here, a respectable result for a large electric SUV. The model is too new for inspection patterns to have formed, so on an early example the things to establish are battery state of health, software version and whether the driver-assistance hardware has been kept current. The inspection report on the individual car covers the first of those.

Work out where it charges before anything else. If it is more car than you need, the electric XC40 answers the same question in a city-sized package. Older electric Volvos show up on the used Volvo listings as well.
