One trim, one engine, two seats. The Z4 is the least complicated new BMW on sale in the UAE and the only convertible in the range, and because it shares its underpinnings with the Toyota Supra it drives rather better than a soft-top usually does. That shared engineering dates from 2018, and the Z4 has had only light revisions since.
How much does the BMW Z4 cost in the UAE?
There is a single 2026 car, the sDrive30i Luxury M Sport Package, at AED 280,000. It is fully specified as standard — the M Sport chassis, the adaptive dampers and the leather are all included rather than optional — leaving paint, wheels and interior finish as the only decisions. That avoids the usual roadster trap of a low headline price attached to a bare car.
Is the BMW Z4 usable every day in the UAE?
More than the shape suggests, with one caveat. It returns about 13 Km/L from the 2.0 L four-cylinder, the Automatic gearbox makes it easy in traffic, and the fabric roof folds away at low speed rather than requiring a full stop. But two seats and a shallow boot mean it works as a second car or a couple's car, not as a household's only vehicle.
BMW Z4 or Porsche 718 Boxster?
The Z4 is the more usable of the two and considerably cheaper, with a bigger boot, a warmer cabin and a fabric roof well suited to the climate. The Porsche 718 Boxster is the better driver's car by a clear margin, with a mid-engined balance the front-engined BMW cannot match, and it holds value harder. The Mercedes SL is the grander alternative.
What does a BMW Z4 cost to run in the UAE?
Not much more than a 3 Series, because underneath it is a four-cylinder BMW on the same service intervals. Where you buy decides where you service: AGMC covers Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Abu Dhabi Motors the capital. The line item a saloon does not carry is the roof, so ask which branch handles the hydraulics before you need them.
Does the BMW Z4 hold its value in the UAE, and what should you watch for as it ages?
It tracks its segment closely, holding about 58% after three years and 40% after five against roughly 60% and 43% for German premium two-doors here. That is a good result for a convertible and reflects steady demand for a car few people buy new. The Z4s CarSwitch inspects arrive at a median of around 90,000 km, so read the roof mechanism and seal sections of the individual car's report carefully.
Drive one with the roof down before you commit, then see what the used Z4 listings look like.
