The Lyriq is Cadillac's first serious electric car and it arrives here in one specification only, which removes the usual configuration exercise. It is a five-seat SUV with dual-motor all-wheel drive and a 33-inch curved display, priced against premium electric rivals rather than against petrol Cadillacs. It launched in 2022 on a platform designed for electric cars from the outset, which is why the packaging is better than an adapted model's.
How much does the Cadillac Lyriq cost in the UAE?
AED 358,000 for the Luxury, with nothing above or below it. That is unusual in this segment and it works in your favour, because the standard specification already includes the full-width display, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain and 515 HP. Nothing meaningful is held back for an options list.
Cadillac Lyriq or Tesla Model Y?
The Lyriq is the more luxurious car by a wide margin — quieter, better finished, and with an interior that feels designed rather than assembled — and it seats five in genuine comfort where the Tesla prioritises efficiency. The Tesla Model Y costs less, uses less energy and plugs into the largest dedicated charging network. Buy the Lyriq if the cabin is what you want from the money.
How practical is charging a Lyriq in the UAE?
Straightforward for the way most owners here actually drive. A home or building wall box refills it overnight and covers ordinary commuting without ever visiting a public charger, and public DC charging is available across the main urban areas for longer trips. Plan the occasional intercity run around one stop and the car does everything else without thought.
What does a Cadillac Lyriq cost to run in the UAE?
Less than any petrol Cadillac, and by a wide margin. There is no oil service, brake wear is low because most deceleration is regenerative, and electricity at home costs a fraction of what a comparable petrol SUV drinks. Al Ghandi Auto looks after the brand from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and the visits are fewer than a combustion car demands.
What should you check on a used Lyriq?
Electric values across the segment are still moving as the technology changes, which matters more than anything specific to this car. On a used Lyriq, establish the battery's state of health and the charging history first; the odometer reading tells you far less about what the car is worth.
Work out your home charging first — it is what decides whether an electric Cadillac suits you — then compare the Lyriq against the rest of the Cadillac range. The used Cadillac listings are worth the same look before you decide.
