About Cadillac OPTIQ

The Optiq is the smallest electric Cadillac sold in the UAE and the cheapest way into the brand's new range — a five-seat SUV with dual-motor all-wheel drive as standard, sitting a full size class below the Lyriq. It is a new nameplate rather than a renamed model, added below the Lyriq as Cadillac builds out an electric range.

How much does the Cadillac Optiq cost in the UAE?

AED 258,000 buys the Luxury, and it is the only version offered. What that price includes is the point: all-wheel drive from two motors, 300 HP, and the same interior design language as the larger electric car, in a body that is easier to park and cheaper to insure.

Cadillac Optiq or Tesla Model Y?

The Optiq is the more comfortable and better-appointed of the two, with a quieter cabin, softer damping and materials the Tesla does not attempt, and all-wheel drive comes as standard rather than as a step up the price list. The Tesla Model Y carries more, travels further on a charge and has the deeper charging network behind it.

How practical is charging an Optiq in the UAE?

Easier than with a larger electric car, because a smaller battery takes less time to fill. Overnight charging at home covers commuting completely and most owners rarely use a public charger at all. For longer runs, DC charging is available across the main urban corridors, and a single stop is enough to complete almost any journey within the country.

What does a Cadillac Optiq cost to run in the UAE?

This is where a compact electric SUV makes its case. Home charging costs a fraction of what an equivalent petrol crossover burns, there is no oil service to schedule, and regenerative braking means pads last far longer than they would otherwise. Al Ghandi Auto handles servicing across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and the car asks for the network less often than a combustion Cadillac would.

What should you check on a used Optiq?

Rapid change in electric cars keeps used values soft across the board. If you are buying used, the questions to ask are about the battery — its state of health, how it has been charged, and what remains of the manufacturer's cover on it — rather than about the mileage.

If the Optiq is close on size to what you need, drive it against the larger Lyriq before deciding — the price gap between them is significant. Scan the used Cadillacs listed now as well before you settle on either.
