The T8 is JAC's double-cab pickup in the UAE — a 5.3-metre working truck sold to businesses and to owners who need a load bed rather than a lifestyle accessory. It competes on price and on running cost, not on badge.
How much does the JAC T8 cost in the UAE?
The 2026 ladder is a drivetrain ladder, not an equipment one. It opens at AED 61,900 for the 2.0T DC Classic (4x2), a two-wheel-drive petrol, and climbs to AED 85,880 for the Pro Diesel MT (4x4). Each step buys capability — four-wheel drive, or the diesel engine — so the right rung depends on the work, not on the budget.
Which T8 should a working owner buy?
If the truck spends its life on sealed roads carrying loads between sites, the two-wheel-drive petrol is enough and it is the cheapest to buy. Choose the Diesel four-wheel-drive versions if you leave the tarmac, tow, or run high annual mileage — diesel torque and fuel consumption pay that premium back over a working life, and a Manual gearbox is the more durable choice under load.
JAC T8 or Toyota Hilux?
The T8 undercuts the Hilux substantially and gives you 290 Nm and a full-size bed for the money, which for a fleet buying several trucks is the whole argument. The Hilux is the default here for a reason: parts on every corner, resale that barely bends, and a reputation earned over decades. Buy the T8 on total cost across a working life; buy the Hilux if you will sell it on. In the same range, the Sunray van carries volume instead of payload.
What does a JAC T8 cost to run in the UAE?
The diesel versions are the cheaper ones to feed over long distances, and a manual gearbox removes the most expensive component a working pickup can lose. Ask for the warranty term and whether commercial use restricts it, price a clutch and a set of brakes before you buy, and confirm the approved workshop can take a vehicle off the road quickly rather than for a week.
What should you check on a used T8?
Working vehicles are bought on condition, not on age. What separates a good one from a bad one is the chassis and load bed, the gearbox behaviour under load, and a service record that matches the work the truck has done.
Get the payload and body dimensions in writing, check the warranty's commercial-use clause, and if your load is bulk rather than weight, price the M4 van alongside it. And keep the used JACs listed now open in another tab while you do it.
