Sixty years on, the 911 is still defined by the same awkward, brilliant idea: a flat-six hung behind the rear axle in a 2+2 coupe. The current 992 generation was updated in 2024 with revised styling, a reworked interior and hybrid assistance on some models, and it spans coupes, cabriolets and Targas.
How much does the 911 cost in the UAE?
This is one of the widest model ranges Porsche sells, which is why the entry point of AED 491,700 and the AED 1,149,600 at the top describe genuinely different cars rather than two ends of one ladder. The opening cars use the 3.0 L turbocharged flat-six; above them sit S, GTS, Targa, Turbo and GT variants, each with its own engine, gearbox calibration and drivetrain.
Which 911 is the one to buy?
For most people the standard Carrera, because the base 992 is already fast enough to be unusable on public roads and it has the lightest, most delicate steering of the family. Step up only for a specific reason: the S for extra pace, the GTS for the chassis hardware, the Targa for the roof, the Turbo for all-weather speed, the GT3 for a circuit.
Should a 911 be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive?
Rear-wheel drive is the purist's answer and the one to choose here, because the 911 Carrera is lighter over the front axle and the steering is noticeably freer for it. The 911 Carrera 4 adds a front driveshaft for traction that matters far more in rain or on loose surfaces than it does in the heat.
What does a 911 cost to run in the UAE?
Fuel is quoted at 9 Km/L on the entry cars, which is respectable for a car this quick, and 911s are famously undramatic to own compared with rivals from Italy or Britain. Tyres and brakes are the real recurring cost. Al Nabooda Automobiles is the authorised distributor, operating in Dubai and Sharjah.
Is a used 911 the better buy?
Very often, because the 911 has one of the deepest and best-documented used markets of any performance car, and a well-specified older example is frequently a more interesting car than a base new one. Search used 911s, and let specification and service history drive the decision rather than the model year.
