HSE is the specification most Range Rovers are actually sold in. It sits above SE and below Autobiography, and the listing under this name covers both the Sport and the full-size car — which is why it spans a wider price range than any single model does. Ten versions are offered in the UAE, from a mild-hybrid four-cylinder to a 4.4-litre V8.
How much does a Range Rover HSE cost in the UAE?
This is a broad list rather than a ladder. AED 475,610 starts it with the Sport 3.0T HSE Dynamic MHEV (360 PS), and AED 987,525 reaches the Sport 5.0L V8 HSE Dynamic (525 PS). The Sport HSE Dynamic cars occupy the lower half and the full-size HSE versions the upper, so the first thing to establish about any quoted figure is which body it belongs to.
What does HSE actually add?
The equipment most owners would have specified anyway. Compared with SE it brings upgraded leather, a better audio system, more driver-assistance hardware and additional exterior detail, without moving into the rear-cabin luxuries that define Autobiography. It is the sensible middle of the range, and on the used market it is also the easiest specification to sell on for that reason.
Range Rover HSE or BMW X5?
The Range Rover is the more special car to own and by some distance the better one on sand, and the HSE specification gets you the whole experience without the flagship's price. The BMW X5 drives better on tarmac and costs far less to keep. Within the range, the SE is the value entry and the Sport is the keener-handling body.
Does an HSE hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
Well below its peers: about 28% of its value after five years, against roughly 48% for European premium cars here. The HSEs CarSwitch inspects arrive at a median of around 135,000 km, which is high, and at that distance air struts, the suspension compressor and the modules controlling them are the pattern for large luxury SUVs — not a fault unique to this car, but the item that decides an individual example's price.
Is a used HSE the better buy?
Strongly, given that curve. Recent examples generally run from around AED 140,000 to AED 515,000 depending on body and engine, with stock reaching down to roughly AED 120,000 for older cars — and at that money the deferred suspension work is the real purchase.
Have the suspension checked before anything else among the used HSEs listed now.
