Take the Range Rover Sport, fit it with the flagship interior specification, and you have this: the Autobiography version of the car that outsells everything else Land Rover builds here. It is 4,946 mm long, rides 215 mm off the ground, and reaches 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds — a genuinely fast luxury SUV rather than a softened one.
How much does a Range Rover Sport Autobiography cost in the UAE?
Two versions, and the choice is the powertrain. AED 593,000 buys the P400 3.0L, the petrol six, and AED 634,000 takes the P550e 3.0L, the plug-in hybrid. Both carry the same Autobiography interior specification, so nothing about the equipment changes between them — only what is under the bonnet and how you fuel it.
P400 or P550e?
The plug-in makes sense only with a charger at home. With one, it covers most daily driving on electricity and turns the fuel bill into something a much smaller car would produce; without one, it is a heavier car carrying a battery it never uses, and the P400 3.0L is the better buy. The petrol six is also the simpler car to own long-term, with one fewer expensive system to age.
Sport Autobiography or the full-size Autobiography?
The Sport is the one to drive yourself. It is shorter, tauter and considerably quicker to respond, and it costs meaningfully less for the same interior grade. The full-size Autobiography is the better car to be driven in, with a longer body and a calmer rear seat; the SV sits above both.
Does a Sport Autobiography hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
Above its peers, and the strongest case in the Sport range: about 55% of its value after five years, against roughly 48% for European premium cars here. The ones CarSwitch inspects run a median of around 130,000 km. On the plug-in versions the high-voltage battery and charging hardware are the items to establish the condition of; on both, the air suspension and adaptive dampers are where large SUVs of this age spend their owners' money.
If the hybrid is on your list, sort out home charging first — that answer decides which of these two cars you should buy. Both powertrains appear among the used Range Rovers listed now.
