The Crosstrek is a raised hatchback with proper all-wheel drive, and the cheapest way into a new Subaru here. The whole point of it is ground clearance and grip in a car small enough to park anywhere. The name is newer than the car — Subaru sold this model as the XV until the current generation, when the Crosstrek badge went global.
How much does the Subaru Crosstrek cost in the UAE?
Two 2026 trims, both with EyeSight driver assistance, both with the 2.0-litre boxer four and symmetrical all-wheel drive. AED 95,000 buys the STD Eyesight and AED 118,000 the Premium Eyesight; the gap between them buys interior and infotainment upgrades rather than any change to how the car drives.
Which Crosstrek trim is the one to buy?
The base car makes the stronger case. EyeSight, all-wheel drive and the 5 seats are all standard, so the entry version already does everything the Crosstrek exists to do, and the saving is significant in a segment where price is the whole argument. Take the Premium only if you want the upgraded cabin.
Subaru Crosstrek or Toyota RAV4?
The Crosstrek is considerably cheaper, easier to park and comes with permanent all-wheel drive that the class usually reserves for higher trims — the sensible choice if you want capability without size. The Toyota RAV4 is a bigger car with a bigger boot and much stronger resale. The Hyundai Tucson offers the most equipment for the money.
What does a Crosstrek cost to run in the UAE?
Little. A small naturally aspirated boxer engine with no turbocharger and no hybrid system is about as simple as a modern car gets, and the all-wheel-drive hardware is a design Subaru has been refining for decades. Servicing goes through the authorised network on a conventional schedule, and parts are not expensive.
Does the Crosstrek hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
Unusually well — about 65% after five years, against roughly 55% for mainstream Japanese cars here, and about 77% after three, one of the strongest results in this segment. Steady demand for small all-wheel-drive cars is what drives it. On an older example, check the drivetrain fluid history and look for evidence of off-road use; both belong on the individual car's inspection report before you agree a price.
If you want all-wheel drive on a hatchback budget there is no direct alternative, so drive one before you settle for a front-drive crossover. The used Subaru listings are another way to test that argument.
