Nothing else on sale here goes as far on a litre of petrol. The Prius is now in its fifth generation, sharper to look at than any before it, and still built around the hybrid system Toyota has been refining for a quarter of a century. Most UAE buyers choose it as a fuel bill, not a car.
How much does the Toyota Prius cost in the UAE?
The 2026 range starts at AED 89,100 for the Eco and runs to AED 105,000 for the Iconic, with three trims across that narrow band. It is a small spread, so the decision is less about budget than about how much equipment you want in a car bought for economy.
Which Prius trim is the one to buy?
The Eco does the job the car exists to do, and it does it on the same 1.8 L hybrid drivetrain as the rest of the range. Moving up adds cabin and convenience equipment without touching the economy figure, so the trim choice never costs you anything at the pump either way.
Toyota Prius or Toyota Corolla Hybrid?
The Prius wins on the only metric its buyers actually track: about 22.7 Km/L, which no conventional car here comes near. It is also the more spacious car in practice, because the hatchback tailgate makes the boot usable. The Corolla hybrid undercuts it, looks like an ordinary sedan and resells more easily; the Camry hybrid is the quieter, larger car for the same money as a loaded Prius.
What does a Toyota Prius cost to run in the UAE?
Cheaper than anything of its size. Fuel is the obvious saving, but the hybrid also runs its brakes far less hard than a conventional car, so pads and discs last. Warranty cover is three years or 100,000 km, and Al-Futtaim Motors handles it in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with hybrid-trained technicians on staff.
Does the Toyota Prius hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
It holds about 53% of its value after five years, a little behind the roughly 55% typical of mainstream Japanese cars here — high UAE summer temperatures are hard on any traction battery, and the market prices that in. In practice the packs are durable and replacement is a known, quotable job rather than a write-off. What matters on an individual car is the battery's state of health and the service history behind it, which is what the inspection report is for.
Work out your annual mileage first — the Prius pays for itself only above a certain figure, and below it the cheaper hybrids are the better buy. The used Toyota listings are where those cheaper hybrids live.
