Lexus replaced the RX outright in 2022, and the fifth-generation car is a genuine reset: a new platform, a shorter overhang, a much better cabin and a switch from V6 power to turbocharged four-cylinder and hybrid drivetrains. It remains the brand's best-selling SUV in the UAE and the reason many people buy a Lexus at all.
How much does the Lexus RX cost in the UAE?
Five specifications across three drivetrains, from AED 267,000 for the Premier 2.5L to AED 363,000 for the F Sport Performance 2.4L. The turbocharged petrol car is the RX350, the standard hybrid is the RX350h, and the top of the range is a performance hybrid — so the ladder is really three cars, not five trims.
Which Lexus RX trim is the one to buy?
Premier, on the hybrid drivetrain, for most owners. It has the cabin, the screen and the driver-assistance package that make this generation worth having, and the hybrid is the version that suits UAE driving conditions best. Prestige and Platinum add materials and audio; F Sport adds firmer damping and larger wheels, which trades ride comfort for a sharper turn-in you will rarely use.
Lexus RX or Lexus NX?
The RX if adults sit in the back or you carry luggage regularly — it is longer, quieter at highway speed and considerably more comfortable over distance, which is what most buyers in this class actually want. The NX is the easier car in a city and cheaper to run, on the same broad platform philosophy. Cross-shoppers also look at the BMW X5 and Audi Q7.
What does a Lexus RX cost to run in the UAE?
Low for the size. The turbocharged petrol car returns a claimed 12 Km/L and takes standard fuel, and the hybrids improve on that markedly in traffic with no charging routine to manage. Al-Futtaim Lexus operates the sales and service network, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Wheel size is the main cost variable, and the F Sport tyres are noticeably more expensive to replace.
