Lexus's largest SUV changed completely in 2022, when the LX moved to the GA-F ladder frame and swapped the old naturally aspirated V8 for a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6. A hybrid version joined the range later, and the two now sit side by side. Underneath, this is the same platform as Toyota's current Land Cruiser, in 7-seat form.

This is the widest ladder Lexus sells here, running from AED 490,000 for the Prestige 3.5L to AED 680,000 for the VIP. The lower half is the petrol LX600; the upper half moves to the hybrid LX700h. Between those two points sit an off-road-focused Overtrail, an F Sport and a four-seat VIP conversion.
Which Lexus LX is the one to buy?
The Prestige is the honest answer for most owners: the ladder frame, the low-range transfer case, the locking centre differential and the seven seats are all standard, and everything above it is comfort, cosmetics or a specialised body. Overtrail adds genuine off-road hardware for people who use it. VIP replaces the third row with two reclining rear chairs and is a different car altogether.
Lexus LX or Toyota Land Cruiser?
The LX is the one to have if you want the Land Cruiser's mechanical package with a cabin two grades better finished and a suspension tune biased towards road comfort — the difference is most obvious on a long highway run. The Land Cruiser is cheaper to buy and to repair, and no less capable in sand. Range Rover buyers cross-shop the LX as well, usually on reliability grounds.
What does a Lexus LX cost to run in the UAE?
