The MG 7 is the brand's attempt at a proper driver's saloon — 4,884 mm long, rear-styled like a fastback, and available with a 2.0-litre turbo making 261 bhp and 405 Nm. That is executive-car output at family-car money.
How much does the MG 7 cost in the UAE?
The two 2026 trims are really two different cars. The DEL 1.5T at AED 95,445 uses the smaller turbocharged engine and is the sensible commuter; the Lux 2.0T at AED 114,000 brings the 2.0 L unit and turns the car into something genuinely quick. Deciding between them is an engine choice, not a features choice.
Which MG 7 should you order?
Drive both before you commit. The smaller engine is more than adequate for daily use and cheaper to insure and fuel, and most owners will never miss the extra output. The larger unit transforms the character of the car, and if the reason you are looking at an MG 7 rather than a plainer saloon is the way it looks, you will probably want the way it goes to match.
MG 7 or Geely Emgrand?
These are not the same kind of car, and the MG is the more ambitious of the two: bigger, far more powerful, and styled to be looked at. The Geely Emgrand is a smaller, cheaper and more modest saloon that will cost less to own in every respect. If you want the size without the performance premium, the MG 5 is the value alternative in the same showroom.
What does an MG 7 cost to run in the UAE?
More than the badge implies, because turbocharged power costs money whatever the make — fuel, tyres and insurance all scale with output. Servicing is straightforward and handled by Al Yousuf Motors, which covers MG from Dubai and Sharjah. The cars are new enough that most on the road remain under factory warranty.
Is a used MG 7 the better buy?
The saving is real but modest. A nearly new example generally runs around AED 75,000 to AED 95,000, roughly 19% under the new entry price and about AED 20,000 saved, which reflects how recently the model arrived. The ones CarSwitch inspects are young, at a median of around 25,000 km, so most still carry warranty — read the inspection report anyway, since a turbocharged car's history matters more than its odometer.
See what is listed used before ordering, and drive the bigger engine at least once.
