About McLaren GT

The GT is McLaren's attempt at a usable car: the same carbon tub and mid-mounted 4.0-litre V8 as the rest of the range, but with softer suspension, a higher ride height and a luggage bay above the engine.

How much does the McLaren GT cost in the UAE?

A single specification at AED 850,000, which places it just above the entry cars and well below the Super Series models — the range runs AED 682,500 to AED 4,580,000. It is the one McLaren where the money buys comfort and space rather than lap time.

What makes the GT different from the other McLarens?

Usability. It is quoted at 620 BHP and 630 Nm with 3.2 seconds to 100 km/h, so it is not slow, but the suspension is softer, the cabin quieter and there is a long rear load bay behind the seats as well as a 150-litre front compartment. It also returns about 9.3 Km/L, the best in the range.

McLaren GT or 570S?

The GT is the one to buy if the car will be driven regularly — it rides properly, carries luggage and does not punish a bad road surface. The 570S is sharper and more exciting for the same sort of money, and the 720S is faster than both by a wide margin.

What is a GT like to own?

The easiest McLaren to live with, and the running costs follow the same logic: softer tyres last longer and the brakes work less hard. Servicing still belongs with the authorised network, since the tub, the hydraulics and the electronics are specialist. Keep the record complete — it is what a future buyer reads first.

Load the rear bay on a test drive; on this model that space is most of the argument for choosing it.
