The RX9 is the largest thing MG sells in the UAE: a 4,983 mm SUV with a 1,026-litre boot, 200 mm of ground clearance and a 2.0-litre turbo making 350 Nm. It is also the most expensive.
How much does the MG RX9 cost in the UAE?
AED 135,000 for the STD, imported in one specification only. That is a long way above the rest of the MG line-up and puts the car into territory occupied by the better-known Japanese and Korean seven-seat SUVs, which is a demanding place for a brand to be selling on price.
MG RX9 or Haval H6?
The RX9 is the bigger vehicle by a clear margin, and if load space is the reason you are shopping, its 1,026-litre boot settles the argument on its own. The six-year, 200,000 km warranty is also longer than the class norm and worth real money. The Haval H6 is smaller, much cheaper and the better-value family car for most buyers. The Chery Tiggo 8 offers similar size for considerably less.
What does an MG RX9 cost to run in the UAE?
About 9 Km/L from the 2.0 L turbo, which is what a vehicle this large and this heavy costs to move. The long warranty covers the expensive years, and after that the mechanical package — a conventional turbo petrol with an automatic gearbox — is straightforward to work on. Al Yousuf Motors handles MG servicing here from Dubai and Sharjah.
What should you check on a used MG RX9?
On a used one the paperwork does most of the work: a service book without gaps, and written confirmation that the balance of the factory warranty transfers with the car. On the mechanical side, look for a genuine oil-change record on the turbocharged engine, and test the air conditioning at every outlet — a seven-seat cabin is a great deal to cool here.
Get the warranty terms confirmed in writing before you sign — on this car it is a larger part of the value than the specification sheet is. The used MG listings show what the brand looks like a few years on.
