About Nissan Sentra

Slotted between the Sunny and the Altima, the Sentra is the compact sedan Nissan sells against the Corolla. It is longer than the class average, comes with a bigger engine than most rivals offer at the price, and is sold here in just two versions.

How much does the Nissan Sentra cost in the UAE?

Two versions, one 2 L engine, and a wide gap between them. AED 63,500 for the 2.0L SV is the sensible commuter specification. AED 90,000 for the 2.0L SR is the sporting trim — different wheels, body kit, interior and equipment on identical mechanicals. You are paying for appearance, not performance.

Which Sentra trim is the one to buy?

The lower one, in nearly every case. It has the engine, the gearbox and the safety equipment; what the sporting trim adds is cosmetic, and the premium is large in proportion to the car's price. Buy the difference in fuel and servicing instead — or step up to a bigger sedan for what the top trim costs.

Nissan Sentra or Hyundai Elantra?

The Sentra is the better-value car: more rear space than the class norm, a bigger engine than its price suggests, and low running costs. The Hyundai Elantra is sharper to look at and more generously equipped at the same money. If your budget is the real constraint, the Sunny does most of the same job for meaningfully less.

What does a Nissan Sentra cost to run in the UAE?

Cheaply. Roughly 13.7 Km/L, modest insurance, and a CVT that lasts as long as its fluid is changed on schedule. The practical value of the dealer network here is parts supply — with Arabian Automobiles Company covering Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, and independents stocking the same components, nothing on this car takes long to fix.

Does the Nissan Sentra hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?

Right at the class average — about 54% after five years, against roughly 55% for mainstream Japanese models here. These arrive for inspection at a median of around 125,000 km. At that point the gearbox service history matters more than anything else on the car, and previous panel work is common enough in this segment to be worth checking rather than worrying about.

Is a used Sentra the better buy?

Only if you go back several years, which is where the listings actually are. Older examples generally run around AED 10,000 to AED 30,000 — a fraction of new money, but those are high-mileage cars where the inspection report is doing all the work. A newer used Sentra is scarce enough that the new car is often the simpler decision.

Compare the trim you want with the used Sentras listed now.
