Nothing else on sale here has held its shape for as long, or its price as well. The UAE G-Class range is three cars on one 1979 silhouette: an electric one, a V8, and an AMG V8 above them both. Mercedes reworked it in 2024, adding mild-hybrid assistance, new interior electronics and the battery-powered version.
How much does the Mercedes G-Class cost in the UAE?
The 2026 range opens at AED 900,600 for the with EQ Technology and runs to AED 1,226,100 for the G 63 AMG. Those three steps are not trim levels — they are three different powertrains in the same body, and the middle one is barely more expensive than the first. Options and interior specification move the figure further than the badge does.
Which G-Class should you buy?
The G 500 is the connoisseur's choice: a V8 with the right noise, the full off-road hardware and none of the AMG running costs. The G 63 is the one the market wants and prices accordingly. The electric G 580 is the interesting outlier and the cheapest way into the shape.
Mercedes G-Class or Land Rover Defender?
The G-Class is the one that keeps its money and its presence — no rival badge carries the same weight here, and demand for the shape has outlasted several generations of competition. The Defender is the better vehicle in almost every measurable way: more comfortable, more capable in more conditions, and dramatically cheaper. Very few people cross-shop them honestly.
What does a G-Class cost to run in the UAE?
Nothing about the car is economical, and the brakes and tyres are sized to match its weight. Servicing runs through Gargash Enterprises in Dubai, where G-Class parts are priced as their own category rather than as SUV parts. The electric version removes the fuel bill but not the tyre bill, which on a two-and-a-half-tonne box is the recurring cost.
Decide between the V8s and the electric car on how you will actually use it — the body, and most of the appeal, is identical across all three. The used G-Classes listed now make that decision cheaper to get wrong.
