Compact crossover version of the A-Class, and the cheapest way into a Mercedes SUV in the UAE. Three cars carry the badge here, and the ladder jumps straight from a modest turbo four to two AMGs. The current GLA dates from 2020, with a 2023 facelift that changed the lights and the infotainment.
How much does the Mercedes GLA range cost in the UAE?
AED 242,900 for the GLA 200 opens the 2026 range and AED 396,500 for the S 4MATIC+ closes it, with a single AMG step in between. There is no mid-range non-AMG version, which means most buyers are choosing between the entry car and a substantially more expensive performance one, with nothing to bridge them.
Which GLA is the one to buy?
The entry car, for almost everyone. It has the raised seating position and the cabin that people come to the GLA for, and it does the job on the lowest running costs in the range. The GLA 35 makes sense if you want AMG hardware in a small SUV; the GLA 45 S is a serious performance car that happens to be shaped like a crossover.
Mercedes GLA or BMW X2?
The GLA is the better-finished car inside and the more comfortable one in traffic, which is where these spend their lives — and it looks more expensive than it is. The BMW X2 is sharper to drive and more distinctive to look at; the Audi Q3 is roomier in the back and the most practical of the three.
What does a GLA cost to run in the UAE?
Up to 13 Km/L from the entry turbo four, which is genuinely cheap for a premium SUV. Servicing is where the badge is felt: rates through the authorised Dubai network are set against the marque, not the size of the car. The two AMGs in this range cost considerably more to keep in tyres than the base version does.
Be honest about whether you need the AMG hardware — on this model, that decision changes the running costs as much as the purchase price. And the used GLAs listed now show what those costs look like after a few years.
