About Mercedes GLB-Class

Boxy where the GLA is rounded, and long enough to carry a third row — the GLB is the compact Mercedes SUV that behaves like a much larger one, and the UAE range runs from a 1.3-litre four to an AMG. The current car dates from 2019, with a 2023 update that reworked the lights and the screens.

How much does the Mercedes GLB range cost in the UAE?

The 2026 ladder starts at AED 261,800 with the GLB 200 and finishes at AED 332,300 for the 4MATIC. Unusually for Mercedes, the middle step is the interesting one: it adds all-wheel drive and a much stronger engine for a modest increase, which makes the entry car harder to recommend than the price alone suggests.

Which GLB is the one to buy?

The GLB 250. It brings 4MATIC, a two-litre engine and the seven-seat layout for a step in price that most buyers will recover in usability alone. The GLB 200 makes sense only if the budget is fixed and the third row is not needed. The AMG version adds pace to a body shape that was never really asking for it.

Mercedes GLB or BMW X1?

The GLB is the practical choice and the more distinctive one: a genuine third row at this size, an upright cabin that makes it feel bigger inside, and the squarest boot in the class. The BMW X1 is better to drive and quieter on the move; the Audi Q3 is more conventional and slightly cheaper to run.

What does a GLB cost to run in the UAE?

Modest by premium SUV standards — small turbocharged engines, sensible wheel sizes on the standard cars, and no air suspension to fail later. Servicing runs through Gargash Enterprises in Dubai at rates set by the badge. The AMG version is the outlier: its tyres and brakes cost noticeably more than anything else in the range.

Work out whether you need seven seats before comparing trims; on the GLB that answer changes which version makes sense. The used GLBs listed now are worth filtering by seat count first.
