About Mercedes GLC63 AMG

Plug-in hybrid AMG in a mid-size SUV body: the GLC 63 S E Performance replaces the old V8 with a four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, and it is the most technically ambitious thing in the GLC range. The change came with the GLC generation introduced in 2022 rather than at a facelift.

How much does the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 cost in the UAE?

Two bodies at the top of the 2026 range, AED 550,900 for the SE Performance and AED 616,900 for the SE Performance Coupe. Both are far above the GLC 43, and the step buys the hybrid powertrain rather than luxury equipment — this is the same cabin with a great deal more hardware underneath it.

Do you have to plug the GLC 63 in?

Yes, and the reassuring part is that plugging it in is optional. The car runs on petrol regardless, so there is no dependence on public charging and no route planning involved; the battery exists to sharpen response and fill in low-speed torque. If you have a wall box at home, short trips can be driven on electricity alone. If you do not, the car works exactly as any other AMG would.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 or GLC 43?

The GLC 63 is the faster and more sophisticated car, with an electrically assisted turbocharger and a rear axle that can drive on its own — genuinely new engineering rather than a bigger engine. What it carries is weight and complexity. The GLC 43 gives up little on any real road and costs substantially less to buy and to keep.

Does the GLC 63 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?

Below its class — about 36% of its value after five years and 55% after three, against roughly 40% and 58% for German premium SUVs here. High-technology performance cars rarely hold up well, and this one is no exception. On a used example the hybrid system, the battery and the brakes are what to have checked properly, since none of them can be judged from the driver's seat.

Drive both AMGs before you decide the extra outlay is worth it — and if you want the same powertrain in a saloon, the AMG C 63 is the other car Mercedes sells it in. Either way, run an eye over the used Mercedes on the site before you commit to a new order.
